Thorpe Hesley Advisory Group

All Academy Trusts have two layers of governance – Members and Directors. Some (like NCLT) choose to have a third, i.e., Advisory Groups. Details of Members and Directors can be found on the Trust’s website – https://nclt.ac.uk/governance-information. Our Advisory Group can be found below.

All governance and financial information can be found on the Trust policies page – https://nclt.ac.uk/policies

A Message from our Chair

My name is Sarah Scott and I would like to introduce myself as the new Chair of the Advisory Group (formerly the Governing Body) of Thorpe Hesley Primary School.

I have been a governor since 2013, initially at the Infants and then as the Juniors and Infants merged in 2014 I became a governor and later Vice Chair of Thorpe Hesley Primary School with particular focus on SEND and vulnerable pupils.

I have close connections to the school, both as a pupil back in the 80s and as a parent with both of my children successfully passing through school over the last few years. Whilst I do not work in education I hope that my day job as a solicitor specialising in Child Protection equips me to be a strong advocate for the school as well as a critical friend. I am immensely proud to volunteer my time to support Thorpe Hesley Primary School.

The Advisory Group exists to challenge and support the school, in its commitment to provide an environment in which children can grow, and learn. We would love to hear your views and will be happy to help if you experience any problems.

We are incredibly lucky to have such approachable staff, who will make time for you should you have any concerns. Similarly, whilst you may not see me doing the school run anymore, I am happy to be contacted via the school office should anyone have anything they wish to raise with me.

Sarah Scott
