Welcome to Class 17!
The children in class 17 have made an excellent start to year 6 and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for us!
There are 36 children in class 17 and our teacher is Miss Lambert (Mrs Smelt teaches us on a Friday).
Miss Cunningham and Mrs Fox also support in class.
Mrs Rawlinson is also part of the year 6 team and will teach in year 6 every morning.
If you wish to contact us, please either catch us at the beginning or end of the day to make an appointment, phone the school office to make an appointment or you can email us. Our year group email is: THPYear6@nclt.ac.uk
Thank you for your continued support.
P.E.
Please remember to bring your PE kit into school on a Monday and keep it in school all week. Although we have allocated PE days, there may occasionally be changes to this. Children are expected to bring their PE kits in a drawstring bag and take them home regularly to be washed. Please ensure that your child has both indoor and outdoor kit and a change of shoes, as wherever possible, the children will do PE outside.
Homework
Homework is given out every Friday to be returned the following Friday and it is really important that this is completed and handed in on time. Children are also given weekly spellings every Friday and will be tested the following Friday. We encourage the children to learn their spellings throughout the week rather than all in one night. Our newly introduced scheme ‘Spelling Frame’ is an excellent way to practise spellings at home.
From January, the children will bring home their GCP revision guides but further information will follow nearer the time.
Reading
Reading planners will be checked every Thursday but should be in school every day for us to write in. Children are encouraged to read at least three times a week and record this in their reading planners. Classes with 100% of children achieving this target, for three consecutive weeks, will receive a reward. Children are aware of the reward that their class is working towards and we aim to encourage each other and work together as a team in order to achieve this.

Useful Resources and Games
We are always aiming to strengthen the skills we learn at school and there is no where better to do it than at home. Dive into some of the links below and let the children show you just how amazing they are!
